Background

The business was a large one operating in two different legal and tax domains.

It had done it’s computing on a BPICS legacy IBM application with support from Spreadsheets and Access Databases. The business needed to be moved to new owners and it had to be doe in 20 working days. With 2 legal entities, 4 manufacturing sites and 200 + staff the application had to be ready to install to make the wheels turn. Equally importantly it had to be available to significantly modify in pursuit of aims of the business.

We undertook this project with a long term ally – Adaxa from Melbourne

Challenges

The implementation of the new system had to take over from the current accounting system and then absorb the other roles and do that within 20 working days.

Most important of them was management of Customer Price lists – which changed to follower competitor activity, new products and seasonal response.

Very few spare hands to assist with the installation of the new system.

Solution

A solution which included a number of the components of CoBox.

Installed and converted all the data from their existing accounting system into the new ERP - ADempiere

Extended the functionality of ADempiere Product specifications came from a separate sub system – that was integrated into Adempiere

Manufacturing Shop Floor transactions came from a separate sub sustem. That too was integrated into ADempiere through importation of manufacturing Records and reconciling through the ADempiere manufacturing accounting. .
